It's funny how, looking back through history, the genius' and the people who really made a very profound difference in the world, were always dismissed as lunatics. The man was a fucking genius and could convey a perfect sense of feeling for that specific time and place. His words can put you right next to him in that moment.
I feel sorry for any of you oxygen deprived mouth-breathers, lacking mental capacity, who actually believe that this man was an idiot. I hope someday they too call me crazy. But, there will always be those narrow-minded fuck asses who refuse to see that proverbial forest and all of it's trees.

They already had a distaste for reporters and at the time he was writting a book about them. They were also pissed because some had ill feelings thinking that he was exploiting them.
As far as his writtings go I read his book "Hells Angels" after it was published back in '66 and found it to be very informative. There was another book out at about the same time, (but by a different author)titled "Freewheelin Frank", also a good read.
I personally did not know Mr Thompson and as for his personal life that was his business but from his writtings, and reading what has been written about him I have to say we could use more like him.

Boring & slow. The Angels knew he wasn't one of them. Just boring.
